1. Install EViews 5.1 Enterprise Edition
   EViews 5.1 Enterprise Edition is available as a download to existing EViews 5.0 Enterprise Edition users. Otherwise, contact Quantitative Micro Software to purchase a license.
    
2. Download the EcoWin Protocol software
   Username and password to download area can be obtained from EcoWin Support for all EcoWin users.
    
3. Install the EcoWin Protocol software
    
4. If EcoWin Pro is already installed on your computer. Go to step 6.
    
5. Fill in the EcoWin account information using the EcoWin Database configuration tool found in Start > Programs > EcoWin > Tools.
   You should have received the account information consisting of a User name and your Organization. Please note that both these fields are case-sensitive and take into account any space between the characters.
    
6. Start EViews 5.1 Enterprise Edition
    
7. Select File… > Open… > Database… from the main EViews menus. The Database Specification dialog will open, which includes the Database/File Type list box that contains all the database types supported by EViews. For an EcoWin database, simply choose ‘EcoWin Database’, then type the name of the database as it appears within the EcoWin Database configuration tool into the ‘Database Name’ field. For access to the standard EcoWin online internet databases, the name should typically be set to ‘default’. Clicking on ‘OK’ will open the database window.
   
   Alternatively, a database window can be opened interactively or within an EViews' program by using the following command:
   
   dbopen(type=ecowin) default
   
   The name default is specified as the EcoWin database within the EcoWin database configuration tool.

EcoWin data is now available in EViews.
